Summary, etc Deutschland ist seit Jahrzehnten ein Einwanderungsland. Sprachförderung für Zugewanderte ist also kein neues Thema. Massiv steigende Flüchtlingszahlen offenbaren jedoch die Lücken und Herausforderungen des deutschen Bildungssystems gerade in diesem Bereich. In den Schulen ist vor allem der Bereich Deutsch als Zweitsprache (DaZ) – und hier insbesondere die Sprachförderung – betroffen. Genau dort setzt dieser Band an. Neben einem Überblick über bestehende Sprachförderkonzepte bietet er vielversprechende Ideen und konkrete Vorschläge zur Verbesserung des Förderangebots. Die Autorinnen und Autoren zeigen auf, wie Intensivklassen funktionieren, wie Bedarfe sinnvoll ermittelt und Synergieeffekte genutzt werden und welche Chancen der Ansatz der Multikollektivität bietet. Dabei nehmen sie sowohl die Perspektive der Lehrkräfte als auch die der Schülerinnen und Schüler ein. Das erklärte Ziel ist die Verbesserung der dringend notwendigen systematischen Sprachförderung im DaZ-Unterricht.
