Systems Analysis: Definition, Process and Design. The book introduced a broadened concept of the discipline one located at the crossroads of technology, management science, and human relations. It also depicted a radically different role for the analyst: that is, rather than the traditional "all-knowing expert" the analyst was perceived as a catalytic change agent. Analyzing problems, exploring alternatives, confronting major policy issues and helping people to better understand technology were viewed as major aspects of the analysts overall duties and responsibilities.
