520 _aThis open-access book explains how whistleblowing channels can be operated according to the best international practices and standards. Using guidance from the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the ISO37002 standard, the author discusses the benefits of a whistleblowing management system. He also uses the EU Whistleblowing Directive (2019/1937) to discuss data management and confidentiality. Finally, the book discusses the common pitfalls in handling whistleblowing reports. The analysis and guidance presented in this book builds on research into trust and speak-up cultures, as well as first-hand experience in assisting organizations to improve their whistleblowing reporting processes.
